Privacy
Sumiyo has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and never sells anything about you. Without an account, everything stays on your phone.
On your phone
Your library, the sources you add, your downloads, where you are in each book and your settings are kept on your phone. TorBox and Real-Debrid keys are encrypted with a key held in your phone's secure hardware, and are left out of backups and phone-to-phone transfers.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional and turns on sync, which is part of Sumiyo Plus. You can sign in with Google or Apple, through Firebase Authentication, run by Google. It receives your name, email address (or Apple's private relay address) and an account ID. Sync stores your library list, the sources you've added, which chapters you've read and the page you're on, with the name of each device and the app version, in Google Cloud Firestore, so your other devices can show them. Page images and downloaded books are never uploaded.
Sumiyo Plus
Sumiyo Plus is bought through Google Play, which handles the payment. Sumiyo never sees your card or payment details. The app asks Google Play only whether you have Plus, and remembers the answer on your phone. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in Google Play.
What the app talks to
The sources you add: when you browse, search or read, the app asks the sites in those sources directly, as a browser would. TorBox and Real-Debrid, with your key, only when you use them. Public book-chart and series-information services, to show what's popular and to describe a series: these get the title being looked up, never your account. Everything is sent over encrypted connections.
Deleting
In Settings, Delete account removes your account and everything synced to it, on every device. Signing out stops sync and keeps your library on the phone. Uninstalling the app removes everything it kept on that phone.
Children
Sumiyo isn't made for children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes and questions
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and anything that matters will be shown in the app first. For questions or a deletion request without the app, use the contact email on Sumiyo's Google Play page.
